How do you relate to and celebrate the natural and cultural heritage of the Gila River, and envision it now and in the future?<\/p>\n<p>As part of the 12<sup>th<\/sup> Annual Gila River Festival (September 22 \u2013 25, 2016), we are featuring a series of presentations in the spirit of TED talks. We are inviting you to submit a proposal for a presentation that fits the festival theme, \u201cHonoring Our Heritage: The Natural and Cultural History of the Gila.\u201d Presentations are scheduled for Saturday morning, September 24 in the WNMU Global Resource Center Auditorium.<\/p>\n<p>If you are not familiar with TED talks, which inspired GILAvisions, go to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ted.com\/\">TED.com<\/a> to get a good sense of how their talks are structured and how impactful they can be. We will loosely follow that format.<\/p>\n<p>We are scheduling 3 hours for GILAvisions presentations, each of which lasts from 5 to 15 minutes. The presentations can be talks, poetry, art, photos, video, demonstrations, performance, or some combination, that relates to the theme of the festival and highlight the Gila River. We will select proposals from those we receive to represent a range of topics and presentation approaches.<\/p>\n<p>Please see the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gilaconservation.org\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/GILAvisions-Guidelines.pdf\">guidelines<\/a> on the selection and preparation process.
